Women’s Plus Size Clothes – At Last Fashionable Clothes At Great Prices

Larger women are finding it much easier to find Women’s Plus Size Clothing in this day and age. Just a few years ago large clothing was made of unnatural fabrics that would send any designer into a coma as it would cling to the body and reveal any bumps. Everything was made in black to hide the body away and maybe no one would look at the larger women. Darker colors do actually hide things that larger women may not want people to see but it is not going to perform a miracle and make them look petite. There is no sense in wearing black when there are so many other colors that make a larger woman look beautiful.

The public began looking at larger women as misfits during 1960 to 1969 and began to desire a waif look or the body style of a ten year old boy. Prior to this the plump stature of a large woman was looked upon as being lovely. Movie stars were not a size 2 but were curvy and soft like Marilyn Monroe and men loved her curves. All of a sudden stylish clothing was only made for small women and the larger ones had to either make their own clothing and add inches to the pattern or walk around in black polyester slacks with the stitched crease down the front of each leg.

It was about thirty years until someone finally got the idea that the majority of women in the world were not Twiggy but more plump beauties and they needed beautiful clothing too. Large women finally had it with the ugly clothing out there and demanded to have trendy clothes just like their skinny sisters. Several plus size celebrities took the bull by the horns and soon designers were making clothing suitable for larger women. There were even models that were upwards to size 14 and 18 on the runways modeling plus size fashion.

There are many companies that make plus sizes today and you can even find several designers that will work to make a plus size woman designer clothing. You can find plus size departments in just about any store that sells clothing and style and fabric are no longer ugly and dysfunctional. Some stores no longer separate plus size from regular size and the things they make for thin women are also made for plus size women. Someone finally figured out that what looks great on a woman that wears size 8 will also look just as good on a woman who wears a size 22.

Plus size clothing usually runs from size fourteen and higher in the United States and size eighteen and up in the UK. It is also called Outsize clothing in other countries. Plus size clothing used to be made by using a pattern and adding inches to it. Now patterns are made directly for plus size women. Plus size clothing is produced in almost every country on the face of the earth and it makes large women look beautiful.

You can even find beautiful lingerie for larger women. It was not too long ago when a plus size woman could find only white bras and ugly large panties made from white or calico cotton. Now bras come in all colors and styles and are decorated with lace and ribbons. It is rare to find a cotton pantie since they are mostly made from slinky silks with lace and bows and beautiful decorations and there are plus size thongs. Beautiful sleepwear is also available. Sexy night gowns are placed right next to the pajamas and they are usually stylish as well.

Black is still a color that can be worn by a plus size woman but you can find clothing of all colors today in a plus size department. It is more a question of the style than the color that makes a woman look her best. A dress that comes in at the waist with a belt and has many layers may look cute on a petite woman but it will look unflattering on a large size woman. A dress that has an empire waist or a sheath dress will look much better on a plus size woman.

Plus size women can find great clothing at great prices these days. There are designs made just for them. Plus size clothing no longer includes the hideous tent style dresses and blouses in clingy black fabric and is now beautiful and functional.

Women’s Plus Size Clothing has not always been easy to find. In the past plus size clothes have been reserved to stretchy polyester material that is not becoming on most body types including larger women because it clings to every hump and bulge.
