Wireless headphones and cordless headphones have altered the way in which humans hear music, watch TV, keep fit and even speak to each other. Thanks to these types of headphones folks can listen to their stereo system from the bottom of the backyard without blasting the sound through the neighborhood. They can listen to music whilst they’re having their daily exercise without getting their arms jumbled in the cable. They can even get and make message or calls in between the music whenever they want. So even though these types of headphones are fantastic, what is the real difference between wireless and cordless stereo headphones ? Is there any difference or are the words truly totally interchangeable ?
The actual fact is that the words wireless and cordless usually get confused and products are offered as either wireless or cordless. In effect they connote the exact same thing. They indicate the headphones haven’t any cables or wires that join them to the listening gadget.
Nonetheless in case you break it down more, the idea wireless refers back to the way information (i.e. sound, voices, music) is transferred from the sending device to your headphones. Presently there are a couple of transportation methods used by wireless headphones. They are infrared (IR) and radio frequency (RF). In other words they are stored in sound waves and the headphones decode and unscramble the information and convert it to your favorite tune or your best friends voice.
Cordless essentially refers to a device that doesn’t require a cord or cable to provide it with power. In other words, the appliance does not need to be plugged into the wall socket to run. It has it’s own power source which is generally some form of battery. This is actually fairly different to wireless then, as the headphones still might need wires to be plugged into the appliance that’s providing the music.
Essentially however, cordless devices are generally used with portable devices like mp3 players or cell phones and are wireless too. The truth that most cordless stereo headphones are also wireless is the reason why folks fail to differentiate the two words and consequently the headphones. Additionally, a lot of the top wireless headphones have their own source of power (battery) and don’t need to be plugged into the wall. Hence the misunderstanding.
So in summation, wireless refers to how the information is transmitted into the headphones and cordless refers to the means the headphones get their power source. But as headphones generally incorporate both technologies, wireless and cordless headphones are frequently described as the same thing.
