Kindle 2 Versus The Regular Book

As everything continues to evolve and become more modern the regular book has not been forgotten. How does the Kindle 2 compare to the paperback book that we all love?

How does the ease of reading compare?

Readability is a big one because we all know that staring at a computer screen is very bad for your eyes and essentially the Kindle is a little computer screen. However, with the new technology that they use on the Kindle 2, it does not hurt your eyes. The Kindle 2’s page layout is the exact same as a regular book’s layout with one exception, you can make the print bigger or smaller with the push of a button.

Can you get lost in the story when you read it on a Kindle 2?

Being able to get lost in the book I am reading is one of the main reasons that I love to read. To be able to escape real life and relax for a while is an essential for me. I see a movie playing and don’t even know that I am reading words or turning pages.

Surprisingly, I can get lost in the book when I am using a Kindle 2. It does take me longer and I don’t stay as emerged for as long put that is probably due to the fact that I am not used to hitting a button to turn the pages.

What about the ease of purchasing a book?

One of my favorite things about the Kindle 2 is that I can be reading a new book in under 2 minutes. This is very important to me because I have kids and the amount of free time that I have is very limited. I don’t want to spend 45 minutes going to the store before I can start reading my chosen book.

What about the prices? How do they compare?

The upfront cost of using a Kindle 2 is more expensive because you have to buy the system but I think it evens it self out over time. A new release book will cost you ten dollars on a Kindle and will cost you 20 dollars in the store. Add to that gas and wasted time. If you buy a lot of new releases the Kindle 2 is a good deal and in a lot of cases the books are actually cheaper then going to the store to buy them.
