Do you love to play with Nerf guns? Or are you an adult that loves to collect them because of the feeling of nostalgia that you get from looking at them? If you are, keep on reading. The Vulcan is definitely something that Nerf has done differently. With it you can command any war and release a flurry of foam darts. There are a few qualities about it that cause it to stand out from the other models.
First of all, probably the first thing you will notice about this is the fact that it uses an ammunition belt. The ammunition belt is loaded with foam darts and then is used to feed it when you are blasting away. Aside from that it also features a detachable ammunition box, a carrying handle for when you want to be like Rambo, a charging bolt, and a switch that lets you change it from single to multi shot.
After shooting and reviewing one of these myself, I definitely feel comfortable rating it as one of the coolest toy guns out there due to the fact that it has a belt fed ammunition and a foldable tripod. If you’re interested in adding a great piece to your Nerf collection or surprising a younger Nerf fan in your family, this is the gun to go with. It can be found at certain retail stores like Wal-Mart or Toys R’ Us but is best found online where the prices are much lower and you can check out pictures to make sure it would be appropriate for whomever you purchase it for.
Alas, I was disappointed the first time it jammed on me. It jammed on me a lot. I found out that when you run with it, it can jam. Holding it still is the best way to use it. Compared to the Magstrike. the Vulcan isn’t as fast. I noticed it is fairly heavy. For a kid I can see how this would make it harder to use, but as an adult it isn’t a problem. You can see why they put a tripod on the thing though, because it is nice to set down and use as a turret.
If Hasbro ever makes another model like this one again, I hope they can make it so it doesn’t jam quite as much. Jamming aside, I still think it is worth having!
